Hello R. J. Grey students and families!
Here we go, we are in the midst of the third rotation for Health.  We will be together until just after the February winter break.  It always fly by given we only have ~17 classes per term.
Seventh Graders are focusing on the concepts of Wellness, Communication and Nutrition, including some cooking.  Students will be researching food groups and developing an on-line program called Powtoon. The presentations will focus on their food group and will include examples of foods found in the food group; nutrients we find in these foods; the health benefits of the food groups; amount an average 13 year old should eat daily; examples of serving sizes; interesting facts about the food group; and finally they found healthy recipes that used the food group. When we cook we will be making a Ginger Vegetable Stir-Fry. You can find a copy of the recipe under 7th Grade Recipes.

Eighth Graders have been researching new stretches and strength exercises to support their individual 1-week fitness programs. We are studying nutrients as well as foods to eat that will support our exercise routines. Later on we will be discussing and focusing on healthy and unhealthy relationships.
