We consider the ABC to be the premier British international school in the region, situated in a fascinating rapidly developing country which retains its own culture, has beautiful sights and is an excellent base for exploring the continent. We have a proud tradition of academic success in a friendly, supportive, purposeful environment. Our vision is to develop responsible outstanding citizens who will make a positive difference in the world today, tomorrow and in their future lives.
The ABC has approximately 1,450 students with 800 in the primary and 650 in the secondary school. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage leading into Key Stage 1 and the International Primary Curriculum as a vehicle for promoting learning in KS2. All secondary students are prepared for IGCSE and then the IB Diploma with all the graduating class being full IB Diploma candidates.
The staff is a combination of largely UK based expat teaching and local teaching and non teaching staff. The school is international in curriculum and outlook. We are members of the Latin American Heads Conference (LAHC), an IB World School and are CIS accredited. We were recently awarded the Values based Education quality Mark following a visit and an audit by Dr. Neil Hawkes (http://www.valuesbasededucation.com/). The school seeks staff who are committed to working in a positive manner and understand the importance of their own contribution to promoting the shared values of the school based on respect, tolerance and a growth mindset.
The ABC is unique, like all schools, with its own special character. We seek to draw on the richness of all the constituent parts of our community to build a caring and positive learning environment which prepares our students to be responsible outstanding citizens in their future lives. If you share this vision please explore our website for a fuller flavour of who we are and what we do and then apply! We look forward to hearing from you and meeting you.
