Homer’s Illiad? Check. Shakespeare’s The Tempest? Got it. The Epic of Gilgamesh? Covered. The Mahabharata? Never heard of it.  But we’re reading that too! And much more!

You are invited to join Caitlin LoTruglio (née Clancy), Scholars Online instructor and Belmont Abbey Class of 2015 valedictorian (she holds a B.A. in English and Government & Political Philosophy), for challenging weekly classes at Scholars Online, an accredited organization intent on providing classical Christian education for the college-bound student.

Using a single anthology, “World Literature” by Holt, Rinehart, and Winston Inc. (see the Literature section of Scholars Online Bookstore), we will cover a vast range of topics, works, and authors including, but far from limited to: African Proverbs, the Sundiata: An Epic of Old Mali, the Epic of Gilgamesh, the Bible, the Illiad, the Funeral Speech of Pericles, Plato’s Apology, the Aeneid, Tacitus’ Annals, the Rig Veda, the Panchatantra, Li Po’s poetry, the Thousand and One Nights, the Song of Roland, the Nibelungenlied, the Divine Comedy, as well as works by Tolstoy, Ibsen, Kafka, Joyce, Camus, Achebe, and many others.

So – come be a part of the Great Conversation!

(P.S. Don’t forget to sign up soon! Tuition is due September 1, 2017.  See http://tinyurl.com/superawesomeclass2017 for more information.)
