Hello, my name is Mickias Woldesellassie and I’m from Ethiopia. I was born and grown up in the diplomatic City of Africa, Addis Ababa.
I have held a B.Sc. degree in Geology from the University of Addis Ababa and M.Sc. in GIS and Remote Sensing from the same university. Moreover, I also have a P.G.D in Computer Science from HiLCoE School of Computer Science and Technology. Since then I’ve been working with various governmental and non-governmental organization with different positions.
Currently, I’m working in SouthWest Energy (HK) Ltd as RS- GIS Specialist and Technical Project Assistance. As the same time I’m also working as a consultant to National Mining Corporation, MIDROCK Ethiopia. I’ve a special interest in Major and Minor Structural mapping, LU/LC dynamics, Climate Change detection, spatial modeling and geostatstics aiming at natural resource identification and evaluation.
My objective is always to achieve a high level of excellence in a growth oriented research organization and to utilize myself as a source for all kind of challenging jobs by upgrading my knowledge and skills time to time and to be epitome of creativity, teamwork and intellectuality. Thus, I look forward to work together with this community and so happy to make the best out of it.
ABOUT OUR RESEARCH
The title of my research project is "Vulnerability of smallholder agriculture to climate variability and change in Ada’a Woreda, Oromia Region, Ethiopia. The research aims to assess the vulnerability of agriculture to climate change, to identify highly vulnerable agro-ecological area(s) and social groups and factors that contribute for agriculture vulnerability to climate change and finally produce agriculture vulnerability map. This research will help policy makers and related organizations in addressing the issue of agricultural vulnerability which can lead to mitigation oriented management by identifying vulnerable areas and groups.
