STUDENT BIO


Hello, my name is Digna Wolfram Mlengule from Tanzania.

I ‘m from Tanzania, I did grow up in Njombe District Tanzania. My education background: B.A Geography and Environmental Studies in 2005 (University of Dar es Salaam) M.A Geography and Environmental Management (GEM) 2007 (University of Dar es Salaam). I ‘m currently enrolled in University of Dar Es Salaam for PhD studies in Geography Department. I am studying effectiveness of farmers’ adaptation strategies to climate change in crop production in Ludewa District Tanzania. My future goal is to become a competent teacher and researcher in geography discipline. I like reading newspaper and books and listening music.

Hello, my name is Opportuna Kweka. My education background is 
Ph.D. (Geography), University of Minnesota (2007), M.A. (Demography) University of Dar es Salaam, (1999), B.A. (Land Use Planning and Environmental Studies) University of Dar es Salaam, (1997).  I'm a lecturer in Geography and Demography at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. My research has been on population, land use and environment.
 

ABOUT OUR RESEARCH
The tittle of my PhD research project is "Assessment of Effectiveness of Farmers Local Adaptation Strategies to Climate Change for Crop Production in Ludewa District, Tanzania". First Researcher is interested to understand  ways in which climate change manifest in Ludewa and its impact on crop production. Second, understand how do farmers adapt to the impact of climate change in crop production. Last researcher is interested to understand the effectiveness of farmers adaptation strategies to climate change in crop production.  I hope to accomplish my research by semi-structured questionnaire to farmers, in-depth interview with farmers, observation and  analysis of remote sense data by Arc GIS to understand climate change.
