My sessions will introduce students the basic and intermediate GIS concepts and functions and have guided computer exercises to show them how the concepts are implemented in ArcGIS, as an example of GIS software packages. Below are highlights for this set of two sessions:

  • Topics in GIS, geospatial methods to assess climate change, geospatial methods for impact analyses of climate and weather events, preparations and presentations of GIS research projects.
  • Geospatial data resources on the web and GIS data preprocessing and integration
  • Basic and intermediate geospatial methods
  • Key elements of a geospatial research project and a research paper
