EQ - emotional intelligence - is invaluable for children and adults.  People with these skills make better decisions, connect with others more effectively, are more successful at school, work, home, and in life.
(here's evidence).

We are a grassroots group of advocates in Phoenix and Tuscon, AZ, committed to bringing these skills to our communities.  Many of us have worked actively to learn and teach these skills for many years; several of us are certified in the Six Seconds methodology and active members of the global EQ Network.

To get started, we're building this site to share ideas and plan.  Some of the key steps for us are...

Create a process of shared vision and enroll people in it - draft:  To ensure that every child and adult in our community has the social & emotional skills to thrive.  We're going to have conversations with our networks, and potentially hold an event to formalize this shared vision and invite people to be part of it.

Strengthen the level of awareness and advocacy.  Build a coalition of people in all sectors who are passionate about making this kind of difference.  We're considering a survey to begin this process.

Increase resources for EQ training & development.  Train people to train others; secure funds for these activities.  We're considering two training events to get started exploring funding options from grants and CSR.
