The flat is light and airey and fitted in a modern contemporary style on the ground floor of a Grade II listed Georgian building close to the historic centre of Winchester, with the advantage of secure parking on site.

Sorry, no chidren under 12 due to glass furniture and electrical equipment.

Nearby are the railway and bus stations. Within a short walking distance are Winchester Cathedral, a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, scenic walks, historical attractions, theatres and cinemas.

The Flat

The flat comprises lounge and kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. All rooms have the high ceilings and cornices associated with Georgian buildings which make them light and give a feeling of character and space.

Open Plan Living

Entrance area

The entrance door opens into the lounge, with a useful chrome and glass shelf unit on the left which is convenient for storing keys and other knick-knacks.

A folder with information leaflets about Winchester and the surrounding area sits on the lower shelf. In front is the kitchen worktop, useful for putting down bags of heavy shopping.

To the right of the flat entrance door is a small lobby with a coat rack leading to the bedroom and bathroom.

The lounge has a large comfortable new Multiyork sofa with big scatter cushions which can be removed allowing it to be used as an occasional bed (linen provided if required).

This is ideal for watching the 42” JVC smart HD television which is connected to the internet to enable access to Catch Up services, Apps, and the internet via the BT Router.

Smart phones and pcs can also be connected to the fast broadband via the router.

The feature fireplace, mantelpiece and large mirror give a central focus to the room, help spread light around and of course allow one’s appearance to be checked!

Evening lighting is generally soft from the matching designer floor and table lamps, and wall mounted uplighters.

The large window is fitted with a screening blind and Roman blind by Forme to provide privacy from the street outside.

Kitchen & Dining

A glass top table and chrome finish chairs sit next to the kitchen, ideally located for either a quick snack or a romantic dinner.

For those who like their coffee there is a Bosch Tassimo coffee maker or a cafetiere if you prefer, naturally, there is a teapot for tea lovers.

The kitchen is equipped with built-in Neff cooker, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, and washer/dryer appliances and the microwave is an 850watt Panasonic standing on the black granite worktop.

Crockery and glassware is stored in the wall units and plate rack, with cutlery, and a range of cooking pots, pans and dishes kept in the cupboards beneath the worktop.

Bedroom

The bedroom has a duck egg blue theme with a new Staples Grandeur double bed, oak side tables and bedside lights. Cotton bed linen and anti-allergy quilt and pillows add to the comfort of your nights rest.

A comfortable leather armchair sits in one corner with a Laura Ashley floor lamp behind for softer lighting.

An oak chest of drawers has the hairdryer in the small right hand drawer, plus the hanging space in the built-in wardrobe allow space for lots of clothes. Inside the wardrobe is the ironing board and steam iron together with the central heating boiler complete with carbon monoxide detector.

The screen blind and curtains by Forme match those in the lounge.

Bathroom

The bathroom has white and slate grey tiles, with shower over bath, wash basin and toilet and Grohe fittings used throughout. There is a wall-mounted grab rail to assist getting in and out of the bath.

A large chrome towel rail keeps the room warm and helps dry the towels.

Over the wash basin is a large mirror-fronted cabinet with a motion sensor switch for the overhead light. Inside is a 240v shaver socket.

Depending on how you plan to arrive it is best to use

  • St Peter Street if you are coming by taxi or on foot from the station.
  • To access the parking area you need to go via Parchment Street (this is also the quickest access if you are arriving in Winchester by National Express Coach which stops at King Alfred Statue.)
