Counseling Mission:
The mission of the Warm Springs K-8 Counseling Program is to meet the growing needs of all our students by committing to the success of each and every student in the areas of academic, career and college readiness, and social-emotional development. The counseling team will give all students the opportunity to preserve their own cultural heritage.
Through advocacy and collaboration, whole school, individual, and group counseling, our counselors work to enhance student achievement as agents of change. We will refer families to other resources that are available within the district and community when needed.
We are committed to the health and well-being, and the future readiness of all students.
Hello! My name is Kristina McElroy. I have been a Mental Health Clinician helping students in our school district since 2014. This is my first year here at Warm Springs K-8 Academy and I am really excited to be a part of this school family. I have a Masters in Education and taught for three years before adventuring into the world of Mental Health. I am currently finishing up my last year in obtaining my Masters in Social Work. My role this year is to provide individual, group, and family counseling services. I am also available to help connect families with resources, help with crisis services, and advocacy.
When I am not working in the schools, I am spending quality time with my family. I also enjoy camping, gardening, drawing, and exploring Oregon.
Hello! My name is Michael Brick and I am the school counselor for K-5th at WSK8.
I graduated from Oregon State University with my Masters in School Counseling and through that experience I have worked with students from grades K-12. The focus of my experience and schooling has been on supporting students' social-emotional needs and dealing with grief and loss.
I provide crisis counseling, individual and group counseling, social-skills education, collaborative problem-solving sessions, counseling lessons, and both academic and social-emotional support. My passion for supporting our students stems from my belief in public education and facilitating a safe environment for all our students to learn and grow.
Hi, my name is Anna Keifer; I am the school counselor at the Warm Springs K-8 Academy that serves the sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. I have over twenty years of experience in the K-12 education system. I have had the pleasure of working with students of all ages. I strive on a daily basis to support all of the middle school students, parents and staff with any academic or social concerns that arise. My primary responsibilities at Warm Springs is providing crisis counseling to individual students, attending student focused meetings and facilitating the creation of the middle school master schedule. I work with students each quarter to develop a class schedule that best meets their needs. I enjoy assisting students with their planning and setting a course for their future opportunities for success. I look forward to getting to know and working with all the parents and families at the Warm Springs K-8 academy.
