Building a Community of Responsible Water Users

Stormwater (rain that runs off hard surfaces directly into our creeks and rivers) plays a large role in Eugene's water quality.  This SPLASH site is designed to develop an awareness of the water cycle,  Eugene's 3 water systems including stormwater, personal water use, local water sites and the affects pollution has on plant and animal life. In addition, we touch on how human water use impacts stormwater, wetland and the watershed health in the Eugene area.  SPLASH encourages students to make direct connections between water use habits and the impacts to our local waterways, with the goal of building a community of responsible water users.

The SPLASH site can be used as a continuous unit or to supplement your individual units of study.
