January. Day after day passed by without a word uttered to me. When loneliness sunk me deeper and deeper, a stranger unknowingly pulled me out. I was in school, feeling like I could drop to the floor and people would walk right over me. Getting to my next class while climbing up some stairs, I looked up for once. Above the rows of stairs was someone waiting. Patiently holding the door open at the top. I couldn’t believe something so small could knock me off the path I was on. A thank you was said; I went to class. But for the rest of that day, I was on the brink of tears.
Months, almost a year later, I was late to my next class. Sighing, I hurriedly rushed to the doors leading down those same stairs. Opening the doors, I see the person from months ago on his way up. I held the door for him as he did for me once. A thank you was said.
I believe in fate. Or something like it. So many things in life are brutal and cruel. But in darkness, there will always be light.
