  • no classes in honor of Veterans' Day


Tuesday, November 12

  • vocab warm-up:
    • Choose 4 vocab words
    • Draw a picture with a caption that shows those 4 words
  • Let's have a vocab quiz on Friday, November 15
  • Abstract art
    • 1. on a small square of tracing paper
      • trace a picture of a face, person, or other noun
      • trace some, but not all of the picture and details
    • set aside the original picture
    • 2. on the second small square of tracing paper
      • trace your original tracing paper pic
      • now leave out some of this picture
        • this will make your sketch even more abstract
    • 3. on a small square of not-tracing paper
      • draw a more abstract version of your second sketch
        • change it up - add, decorate, re-create
          • did your face finally become a tree? Did the dog become a teapot?
    • 4. on a second small square of not-tracing paper
      • go back to that second tracing
      • make a different abstract version of the same thing
      • change it differently
    • Staple together all 4 with your name somewhere
      • turn in!
  • Work on comics questions 3 - A
  • Done with 3-A?
    • pick up 3-B!
