The district will continue to report positive cases of COVID-19 to the Suffolk County Department of Health (SCDHS) as required.
All individuals who test positive for COVID-19 will not be permitted back into school until cleared by the SCDHS.
Consistent with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance, students in the K-12 indoor classroom who are within at least three feet of an infected student with masking are excluded from the definition of close contact and not required to quarantine.
The close contact definition excludes students who were within three to six feet of an infected student if both students correctly and consistently wore well-fitting masks the entire time. This exception does not apply to adults in the indoor classroom setting.
The district will continue to contact trace and notify families of potential exposure following the guidelines of the SCDHS and CDC.
The schools/district will maintain seating charts and cohort students whenever possible.
Students who are subject to quarantine will be entitled to receive home tutoring compliant with district policy.
