We are a 501c3 and operate entirely on local donations. Aside from camp, all our activities on and off island are paid for by community donations.
Our organization is run and operated by followers of Jesus who are committed to sharing Jesus’ unconditional welcome. It is important that each kid that joins feels welcome regardless of their faith background.
Living on a small island, it can be tough for youth to find community. While we are modeled after other youth organizations, 3V’s has adapted to fill the specific needs of Lopez Youth.
3V’s is a place where any Lopez Island 6th to 12th graders interested in having fun with friends and being part of an authentic community can come be themselves.
3V's hosts activities like weekly game nights, off-island trips, and summer camp, in order to create memories and build meaningful and consistent community for Lopez youth.
We offer weekly discussion time for kids. We discuss topics relevant to the lives of young people, getting kids thinking about how they interact with themselves, others, and God.
A safe, fun, and positive community with a place for everyone built on who Jesus is to us.
A place where youth can discover who they are and explore their faith.
Understanding how we live with others and God.
The 3Vs stand for Via, Veritas, and Vita, which is Latin for the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
At the last supper Jesus told his disciples, "I am the way (via), the truth (veritas), and the life (vita). Nobody comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)
Jesus was a man who taught a way of living that was as radical in His time as it is in our own modern day. We believe that perhaps the most radical of his instructions was his insistence on accepting and loving those who were said to be unlovable. Moreover, He made three declarations about Himself: when He said “I am the way,” (the way for anyone to reach God), it means we follow His example of loving the lovable and the unlovable alike. When He said “I am the truth,” it means from Him alone do we derive the truth of who we are, our identity. And when He said “I am the life,” it means through Him we are given life abundantly, fully and completely.
Ultimately, this is what the 3Vs wants to model. Through Christ’s personal example towards each of us individually, we the 3V’s leaders are empowered to follow the Way to love everyone unconditionally (because He loves us unconditionally), unshakable for we know the Truth of who we are (because He tells us), as we strive to pour the fullness of Life that is cultivated within us into everyone we encounter, inside and outside of 3V’s.
