Being Sea Scouts we do a lot of water activites - mostly during the summer term, when the weather is warmer.
These activites include Kayaking, Canoeing and Pulling (also known as Rowing). By taking part in these activities scouts work towards earning a number of different activity badges.
Scouts learn how to properly and safely use our rowing boats and how to work as a member of a small crew.
By working towards the British Canoe Union's awards with our kayaks and canoes, scouts also work towards the Paddle Sports badge.
Many skills are common to all nautical activites. while working towards their Pulling and Paddle Sports badges, scouts learn the necessary skills for the Nautical Skills badge at the same time.
Time spent out on the water working towards the badges above also counts towards the Time on the Water Staged Activity badge.
