Balance Test - The ability to balance is a fundamental element of all sporting activity.
Standing Long Jump - This two-footed jump from a standing position is a test of co-ordination and leg strength. A special calibrated landing mat is used which enable jumps to be recorded easily.
Speed Bounce - Speed Bounce is an exciting test of speed, rhythm and coordination
Target Throw - A test of hand to eye coordination and throwing accuracy.
Hi-Stepper -An explosive event that develops agility, co-ordination, speed and acceleration.
Chest Push - A standing throw where the participant pushes a 1kg ball from the chest.
Vertical Jump - A jump from a standing position in which the participant competes against their own height and weight.
Shuttle Run - An event that develops the ability to accelerate, decelerate and change direction.
Javelin -A standing throw using a foam javelin.
Standing Triple Jump - A hop, step and jump from a standing position, testing leg strength and co-ordination. The triple jump mat has a number of take off lines at metre intervals allowing for users of all ages and abilities. The landing section is calibrated, which allows for the easy measuring of jumps.
Pupils will develop an understanding of the one-two (sticky-steppy) footwork rule and pivot action.
Pupils will learn to understand the importance of short distance passing and moving into space.
Pupils will attempt the shoulder pass and overhead pass on the move using signalling and communication, within a game situation.
Pupils will begin to Introduce basic attacking skills, creating space with the feint dodge technique.
Pupils will be introduced to basic defending skills learning to intercept the ball whilst man to man marking.
Pupils will learn how to support a team member in their shooting technique and to learn the basic starting positions.
Pupils will develop an understanding of the basic rules of Football whilst taking part in a number of dribbling exercises encouraging children to use different parts of their feet.
Pupils will learn to develop dribbling skills whilst encouraging children to change direction.
pupils will learn to perform a short distance pass in Football using the correct technique: the non-striking foot comes beside the ball and the striking foot comes through with the side of the foot connecting with the ball.
Pupils will continue to develop their ability to perform a short distance pass whilst thinking about accuracy and power.
Pupils will be taught to shoot with their laces.
Pupils will be put into a number of game situations where they are encouraged to perform the skills learnt over the course of the term.
