Over 25,000+ Moves We've been providing our services since early 2004 to over 20,000 clients

Over the past years of trading in your community, Easy Movers has employed many professionals and trained just as many more. We have always demanded a high standard from the entire team with no exceptions. We run with a regular fully employed team and when there is an exceptionally high demand for our services that exceed these guys, we have a long list of professionals and assistants that contract to us at a moment's notice. Here is just some of our regular team:

Grant Coates – Founder/Sales/Operations Manager

I was a Chef for over 15 years travelling all over the world cooking for various movies and on the motor racing circuits. I met my wife (Gemma) in London and when our son was born we decided to make some big changes and hang up my chef whites and move back to NZ to start our family. We spent what little savings we had left and bought our first truck in Feb 2004. In my spare time I learnt via YouTube on how to build our website; this along with our great team, Easy Movers has grown into what it is today. We have moved over 22k families and businesses all over NZ. The best part of my job is those high pressure days, for instance: when our PM Jacinda Ardern announced to the nation that we have 48 hours notice before the country goes into complete lockdown, due to the outbreak of #Covid-19. Before Jacinda finished informing us of her plans, our phones went absolutely ballistic from all our pre-booked customers and new enquiries wanting to move within that time frame. I called an urgent meeting with our team and did the impossible; we assisted every call for help. We successfully managed to move 73 families and 3 businesses in 48hrs up and down the country … This was a very proud moment for myself and all my team

Gemma Coates – Administration Specialist

Born in London where I met my husband (Grant) working in hospitality. We travelled a lot, on a working holiday and made plans to come to NZ. Grant had this crazy dream to go into business for ourselves and after hearing and bouncing ideas off each other, I saw and shared his dream. I won’t lie, it was hard! I was a new mum in a new country building a new business that we were both learning. We made sure to surround ourselves with good friends, family and key staff that shared our vision to build a moving company that wasn’t just about men in trucks! Our goal was to offer services like no other moving company. I’m happy to say a few years ago after all our hard work, sacrifices we made and systems I’ve implemented, I’m able to work mostly from home and enjoy being a mum. Along with my commitments to Easy Movers I’m also following another dream in becoming a paramedic … life is good 🙂

Sam Wilson – Grand Pianos, Spa Pools and anything BIG!

Hi there, I was born in Wellington and I have been working as a mover in Auckland for 8 years with a large successful company. I have been specialising in transporting oversized, heavy and difficult items for the past 3 years. I thrive on problem solving and love challenges. I believe with the right team there’s nothing we can’t move. 2 years ago I bought my first truck, joined Grant and Gemma at Easy Movers and now have 3 trucks. I enjoy being a part of this successful growing company. The best thing I love about my job is being able to move difficult heavy items when other moving companies have failed.

Steven Jones – Corporate and Business Relocations

I started my career straight after school working for a moving company in Bexley, London. After I had been working for 8+ years in the industry I started to specialise in relocating corporates with a Kensington, London relocation company for around 3 year. I loved the challenge and decided to go on a working holiday and went to NZ. Once in Auckland I met Grant and Gemma and bought my own truck and joined Easy Movers. I have now been with Easy Movers for 2+ years and am responsible for all corporate and business relocations. I love to work closely with you and your team in depth and flexibility to ensure a swift, safe and most importantly happy move every time.

Wayne Lilly – Pool Table, Snooker Tables and Special Projects

I used to be a drug and alcohol counselor and needed a change. I started with a small firm back in 2004 as a part time mover and it just felt right, after a week or three I went full time pretty much straight away and was managing my own team. I bought my own truck and joined the team at Easy Movers and concentrated on moving pool tables, billiard tables and allsorts of difficult heavy items. We tried so many different ways to move pool tables from manpower and designing different trolleys and tools to find that there is only one safe way to move a pool table and that’s to fully dismantle. I have now been successfully moving pool tables for 14 years.

David Ayerst – Spa Pools, Fine Art, Antiques and Fitness Machines

I started on furniture removals with a local removals company in Kelston as a labourer then finished as an owner driver, work dropped off with that company so I moved to another transport company. I was there for a couple of years specialising in moving fine art and antiques. I was offered a contract with another moving company based in Mangere, this lasted for two years but this firm went into liquidation. I started as a driver stacker for a local firm in Beach Haven that contracted to a large relocations company that led to my own contract that lasted for eight years as an owner driver. With this company we did a lot of moves for the Auckland Art Gallery. I heard a lot about Easy Movers and reached out to them and have now been an owner driver with Easy Movers for four years and now looking to expand and I’m now buying another truck. I enjoy working in this industry because working with a great team doing a great job is a great feeling.
