am a bit of a modern day Bohemian-Hippie. Short on money, super creative, peace loving, romantic, poetic, and emotional, I live each day in wonder.

"Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today." -James Dean

But the modern world is a hard place for a Modern Bohemian like me. It's full of technology and pollution and obsessed with money, money, money. So what is a Modern Bohemian to do? I find ways to make the two worlds meet.

I am living a Bohemian lifestyle in the age of technology. How? Step into my world for a moment, and I will tell you.

First of all I understand that technology is important.

Yay for technology!

So many opportunities have opened up for creative types like me because of technology. Here is a list of some examples to illustrate what I mean.

Music- My boyfriend is a DJ and writes his own music electronically! Amazing! Bohemians in Puccini’s day did not have that kind of opportunity! Not only can music be made using technology, it can be sold and bought (I-tunes anyone) and carried with you at all times! Crazy!

Social Networking- I love that I can stay in contact with my friends and meet so many new people because of the internet. There are sites completely devoted to social networking! (Facebook, Myspace, etc.)

Business- Just about anyone can have their own business nowadays. Whether it is full time, part time, or just supplemental income, technology has made business possible for the average person. Pretty cool. I myself have two businesses and also make money with other online endeavors. I work part time, but now I have options that I would not have had even twenty years ago to make extra money on the side.

Going green- Being able to publish online means saving paper. Buying songs online saves on packaging. Not to mention, I can write as many poems, songs, short stories, and books as I want without using paper or pencil… I just save them on my laptop. Plus, the internet has valuable tips and resources for going green, including resources that allow you to buy and sell used goods. (Craigslist, Ebay, etc.)

There is more, but I am sure that you’re starting to see the benefits here.
