Women Love Men In Jeans

Man, It's All In Your Jeans

Erin tells me that a good pair of jeans on a man is one of the sexiest things any woman could ask for. I don't get it, but her opinion is certainly more important to me, and ultimately you, so I asked her to help us out in understanding the whole topic a little better. All kidding aside, I didn't really know what "good" jeans were until she introduced me to them. For years I had literally lived in the same style Levi's I had worn since High School. They were comfortable and I was used to the look. I never thought about changing them or looking for something new. What would I do that for? Little did I know that the actual cut of the jeans makes all the difference, and women are very aware of that fact.

Now, I am not saying that I simply allow my wife to mold me into something I am not. But one of the first rules of being more desirable to any women is to at least LISTEN to their opinion. In my case, Erin's opinion was loud and clear "Try something new!" She was willing to guide me to something she thought was nice, but also willing to accept if I didn't like it. All I needed to do to please her was to TRY it.

No one says you have to pay an arm and a leg for a pair of jeans. If you know where to look, you can spend less and still look as good.

At the store, Erin strode confidently into the Men's department and started pulling several different styles off the rack. I was overwhelmed at first because there seemed to be dozens of jeans in her hands. I was starting to feel like I had made a mistake agreeing to this venture. Before I knew it, I found myself standing in the dressing room with 6 pairs to try on. This was probably more pairs than I had tried on in the past 10 years. As I stared blankly into the mirror, images of school shopping flashed in my head. I almost expected my Mom to suddenly stick her head into the dressing booth and say, "Come on out... Let's take a look." And what was bothersome to me about school shopping was that after all was said and done, I was only going to wind up with one pair of jeans anyway.

Here and now, it was different. I was in a new setting and time. I could actually decide for myself what I liked! And I could actually afford to buy as many pairs as I wanted.

After trying on the first pair of jeans, I started to relax. This was not so bad afterall. As I looked in the mirror, I realized for the first time, jeans come in lots of really interesting cuts and styles. In the mirror I saw myself wearing a straight leg version of DKNY jeans, something I never would have considered in the past... But as I slowly discarded my prejudice, I actually found myself liking them. I stepped out of the dressing room, came around the corner, and as I came into Erin's view, the deal was sealed. Her eyes lit up, she smiled and as she began to speak, I knew I had hit the jackpot! She asked me how I "felt". I actually knew that I liked these jeans and liked the way the jeans seemed to flatter my less than perfect physique. I looked tall, well balanced and casually chic. Ultimately, I felt that I looked good in them and that seemed to be all that my woman needed to hear or know.

Erin began tugging and sliding her hands over various areas of the jeans and began casually pointing out various aspects of the jeans that I, as a man, would never have noticed before. She showed me that the pant legs were straight and actually made the shoes I was wearing "stand out" accentuating the design of them. She explained that if I was happy with this particular jean, I would see the difference in how I appeared if I tried them on at home with some of my other of shirts.

What is the point of my story? There are two basic rules to looking good in jeans.

1) Though it is very important that YOU be comfortable in whatever you wear, it is equally important that you try things outside of what you THINK you would find comfortable. If you have been stuck in the same style for years, it's time to try something new. You may not find something right away, but it is worth trying to find a style you can both feel comfortable in and look good in.

2) You should ask for a second opinion and it should be a woman's. Whether it is your sister, a close friend, or even a female co-worker (Another option would be to ask your sale's person's opinion... but you have to be able to read whether they are telling you the truth or just trying to sell you their product.)

So ask any woman what she likes about a man in a good pair of jeans and I think you will hear "He looks hot in them!". I am not a woman so I don't know exactly what that means or what they are thinking. But I can tell you from experience, Erin likes me in my jeans. Maybe she thinks I have a nice butt (I say this because she actually says this.) I know she is happy with the fact that I valued her opinion, tried something new, and found something we both liked as a result.

Whatever the explanation, getting a good pair of jeans is well worth the exploration. And as I said in the beginning, it's not necessary to pay an arm and a leg...I paid just $16.99 for the jeans that made my woman smile from ear to ear...and after 2 years, they still do.
