Temple

There is an enchanting temple for Goddess Sri Sharadamba (Goddess Saraswati), the Goddess of Learning in the Eastern end of the college campus. Apart from the main shrine for Goddess Sri Sharadamba, the temple has shrines for Lord Sri Mahaganapathy and Lord Sri Venkatachalapathy as well.

The temple has been in existence since 1986. Sri K. R. Sundararajan, the College Founder, had dedicated 6 grounds of the college land to the construction of the temple. Once the construction was over, the then Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Sringeri, Sri Sri Abhinava Vidyatheertha Mahaswamigal consecrated the temple along with the present Jagadguru Sri Sri Bharati Theertha Mahaswamigal.

Dr. K. S. Lakshmi, Secretary, renovated the temple and beautified it with a 120 ft tall Rajagopuram which can be seen from across the Kodambakkam overbridge, a ramp for easy accessibility by all and spacious mandapams on two floors. The shrines are all located int eh first floor of the temple. With her efforts bearing fruit in 2012, the Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Sringeri, Sri Sri Bharati Theertha Mahaswamigal visited the campus and performed the Kumbhabhishekam of the renovated temple. The entire land and temple have been handed over to the Sringeri Math.

The students and faculty members have always benefitted from the presence of the temple and frequent the temple for praying and begetting the blessings of the Almighty. The ever-present grace of the Goddess of Learning on this campus has always been felt by all, with gratitude.
