Eventually I stopped using Tinder because the experiment was taking too much time to run and was not giving me much insight into my original question: how do you get guys to approach women online? Even when I did find someone interesting it took so long to start an actual conversation that by the time we were ready to meet there was no easy way of getting in contact with them again (apart from trying Facebook which doesn't always work). It's also difficult when you live in a big city where women are constantly bombarded with messages, making it hard to stand out and be noticed.

I've since moved on from online dating partly because of this issue but also because I got a girlfriend. To be fair, her and I met through college which is one of the more traditional ways to meet someone nowadays. The point of this whole experiment was that if you want to get a guy's attention online then don't write something so negative in your profile because it will turn guys off from approaching you. It's also important not to exaggerate too much – "Laid back cool chick looking for a fun time"/"I'm blonde haired and blue eyed bombshell - dream girl status!" should probably be avoided as well unless your goal is just to attract creepy guys who only send pictures of their dicks anyway!

Generally accepted conventions associated with best practices in certain disciplines (pediatrics, psychology) discourage the use of diagnoses that could be understood as pejorative. For example, it would be unwise for a psychologist discussing mental illness to refer to clients as "schizophrenics", when "people who suffer from schizophrenia" is perfectly acceptable terminology. The term "Millennial" generally refers to people born roughly between 1981 and 2001 [1] ; these individuals face specific challenges when looking for love [ 2 ].
