“To all the beloved of God…called to be holy, grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 1:7).
Beloved Friends in the Lord,
As we journey deeper into the Third Christian Millennium, we find ourselves invigorated by a renewed call to evangelize — with hearts set ablaze by the timeless joy and wonder of our faith. The Gospel is not only a message to be proclaimed but a life to be lived. In a world increasingly drawn to relativism and fragmentation, our mission is clear: to proclaim with conviction and love that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life — not merely a way among many, but the very path to the Father.
Evangelization is not a passing initiative or a singular program — it is the very identity and lifeblood of the Church. It compels us to bring Christ to every person and into every circumstance, whether to those who have never heard His name, to those who have wandered from the faith, or to those silently yearning for truth. It is the Spirit of God who animates this mission, transforming each of us into bearers of mercy, witnesses of hope, and instruments of peace.
When the Church speaks the Word of God — to believers and seekers alike — she does more than inform; she illuminates. She shapes conscience with truth, stirs hearts with charity, and challenges a world often driven by utility and self-interest to rediscover the dignity of the human person, the sanctity of life, and the sacredness of the family. Where the Gospel is embraced, culture is elevated, not by coercion but by conversion — one heart at a time.
Yet we cannot offer what we have not first received. Effective evangelization begins not with strategies, but with sanctity — not in programs, but in persons who have encountered the living Christ. The most powerful testimony is not found in eloquence, but in a life transformed by grace. The world is watching — not so much for better arguments, but for better witnesses.
As heralds of the Gospel, we must offer not a diluted or selectively edited version of the faith, but the fullness of truth handed down through the ages — in unity with Peter, and in fidelity to the Church’s sacred tradition. We do a disservice when we soften hard teachings to appease modern sensibilities. The call of Christ is radical, and so must be our response: to teach, to baptize, to make disciples of all nations — trusting in His promise: “I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Mt 28:20).
In this sacred task, let us not be hindered by fear or weariness. The world today needs not evangelizers who are anxious or disillusioned, but disciples whose lives radiate the joy of Christ. May we be among those whose witness is marked by courage, whose hearts burn with holy zeal, and who are willing — with love and humility — to lay down our lives so that His Kingdom might take root in every corner of the world.
All with St. Peter to Jesus through Mary,
