NUCLEAR ASTROPHYSICS
GROUP at YONSEI UNIVERSITY
The Nuclear Astrophysics group at Yonsei University is interested in the properties of neutron stars as well as finite nuclei. In general, neutron stars can be thought as giant nuclei which contain 10⁵⁷ nucleons and thus, the basic knowledge to investigate neutron stars is nuclear physics. Using both the classical approach to nuclear physics and state of the art technique, we are working on static properties of finite nuclei, nuclear reactions, finite nuclei surrounded by nucleons, and uniform nuclear matter. Constructing hot dense matter nuclear equation of state for core-collapsing supernovae explosion is one of the main research areas in our group.
