Course Maps

Run Course #1

Run 1: Athletes will start on Olive Street, just out site the gravel trail head parking area. They will then turn Right on to the Lackawanna Valley Heritage Trail by the pavilion. Runners will continue on the trail and making their first Right hand turn, following the trail toward the intersection of Mulberry Street and Providence Ave. Runners will make a U-turn around the Center Pole just short of the intersection and continue back the way they came veering right at the benches to continue following the trail under the Mulberry Street bridge. Runners will follow the trail to the turn around point just short of Broadway. After making the U-Turn, Runners will follow the same route including the short out and back section and finish the run at the Transition Entrance. Relay Runners will hand their chip to the bike segment team member prior to entering transition.

Bike Course

The Scranton Duathlon Bike Course is an out and back, 20k, 12.4 mile, route that will take athletes from the transition area along Providence Albright, the Silk Mill Section, Green Ridge, Boulevard Ave, Olyphant Ave, Throop Little League, Pancoast Street, Boulevard and finally Enterprise Drive in Dickson City to the turn around point.

Remember This is Scranton therefore pot holes are a plenty. Also this is Scranton there is actually a hill on this course...... elevation chart is with in the map.

Relay Team Athletes will need to hand their chip off the their running team mate at the exit of transition. After they have racked their bike.

The Course will be open to traffic and volunteers will man most intersections. Athletes will ultimately be responsible for safely traveling the route. This is a Non Drafting race and USAT rules regarding drafting and minimum following distance will be followed. there will be no water stations on the bike course. Water and flat kit should be carried by the athlete.

Run Course #2

Dudes and Dudettes this ins't rocket science!!!! Run #2 will have a very similar feel to it. However you'll probably be more tired this time around. Its the same route (minus the Olive Street Start) as Run #1. Imagine that. The Finish is at the pavilion at the Start/End of the Trail.


Water will be available at the Exit of Transition and at the Far Turnaround.
