About Me

Dear Families,

My name is Noelle Nee and I will be your sixth grader's science teacher this year. This will be my fourth year teaching at Wells Junior High School, and I am looking forward to another exciting, learning-filled school year.

I was raised in New Hampshire but spent my summers as a child camping in southern Maine and taking trips to Wells Beach. I graduated from the University of New England with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Middle Education, while also minoring in Special Education. Recently, I became a certified Social-Emotional Learning Facilitator and a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, with a focus on utilizing mindfulness practices in my work with adolescents.

One of the main reasons I love teaching science is because of its ability to feed the natural curiosity and desire for creativity that children have at this age. There is nothing better than seeing a student's face light up as they discover an answer to a question they have always had, or they've come up with a solution to a challenge they've been posed with in class.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy fitness, spending time with family, visiting vegan food trucks, and soaking up the beauty that is coastal Maine.

As always, please reach out at any time. Being in community with families helps make our school great!

Mission Statement

My mission as an educator is to provide for all children with whom I cross paths a quality science education that instills in them the skills and values needed to be life-long learners. I encourage my students to have a mindset in which they know that it’s okay to take risks and make mistakes while learning, because that is how we grow. I strive to create a safe and warm classroom environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and participating in class discussions, in order to fully immerse themselves in their education. Most importantly, my students will know that when they walk into our classroom each day, they will be respected, their ideas will be valued, and there will always be someone who believes in them.

Quote from Aristotle that reads: Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.
