Whistler Multicultural Society's (WMS) vision is that newcomers, immigrants and all black and racialized people are resilient and are thriving. Our programs build cross-cultural interaction and connections, develop awareness and understanding of our local diversity, and seek to grow equity and inclusion. We aim to build the voice and profile of newcomers, immigrants and equity-deserving indidividuals in our local society, and to develop community inclusion initiatives.

Mexican summer barbecue
Celebrate summer with us in Whistler... join Cesar for a Mexican barbecue on Tuesday July 30, part of our summer multicultural community kitchens.
We'll be cooking chicken adobo with guacamole, pico de gallo and corn on the side. Play volleyball and boules to give you appetite.
Sign up at food.wmsociety.ca to join us from 5 to 7pm at Alpha Lake Park. Bring your friends and family for some great food, games, and fun and celebrate our diverse community together.

Resilience Advisory Committee

Join the Resilience Advisory Committee - it provides feedback and discussion on potential events and issues in Sea to Sky and helps us develop engagement events in our community. Next meeting is July 18.
We're looking for local immigrants to interview about their experiences in the Sea to Sky so we can show how cultural diversity adds to our community.

Multicultural summer camp 2024
Multicultural summer camps are returning for the fourth year from August 12 to 16. These camps for 7 to 12-year-olds provide a unique learning opportunity and multicultural experience which we hope will build a lifelong interest in cultural diversity and equity.
Each day, camp participants experience the language, food, art, crafts, traditions, history, games, and so much more from a different culture. Key to the day is cooking and eating a meal together from the culture being explored.
Led by local immigrants from each culture, the 2024 camps will introduce participants to Nepal, Slovakia, Philippines, Japan, and India.
