Join us to learn more about these amazing creatures and how we can advocate for their survival!

Are you ready to use your green thumb to grow your own fruit, vegetable, or herb? In Green Thumb, we will learn the value of plants in our environment while growing our very own plant and recording our findings through various data collection methods.

Whistle While You Work

If you have you ever wondered how you can help make your school a better place, then come join us as we “Whistle While We Work!”   What are tools and how do they work? This expedition provides opportunities for students to learn all about how people use tools in the workplace.  Students will explore tools and what they do through experimentation. They will learn how those tools affect a person’s working environment. Finally, students will have the opportunity to affect their own ‘working’ environment right at their school.  What tools do people use? How do those tools work? How can I contribute to my working environment? These questions and many more will be answered through this exciting hands-on expedition.

Litter Bugs Me!

Does litter bug you? In this expedition we will pick up litter at our school and learn about ways to take care of the environment around us. Keeping the earth clean is our responsibility and we will work together to advocate about reducing the waste in our school community.

It's for the Birds

The bird is the word in this inquiry-based course as we soar high and low to explore the variety of avians that live on our planet.   From birds that fly to birds that live on land, students will learn about the characteristics of these fascinating animals and classify the various birds that live in our world.  They will observe and explore habitats of these creatures and their life cycles, as well as understand the important role they play in our environment. In this course, students will be encouraged to deepen their learning of birds by observing them in their own environments at home and at school and develop ways they can help protect these exquisite creatures.

Give Bees a Chance

Are you afraid of BEES--but willing to learn more about them?   BEES are an important part of our environment! Learn more about honeyBEES and why we should respect them and not BEE so afraid of them.   You will even get to create a plan to help save our local BEES from dying. Are you willing to "Give BEES a Chance?"

Changes are Seasonal

Have you ever thought about how the seasons affect you? The weather changes, you dress differently, and you do different things. Well, believe it or not, the seasons affect the animals in our environment too! In this expedition, we will explore the basics of weather and then gain a deeper understanding of the kind of weather we see during the four seasons of the year. We will then explore how these seasonal changes affect some of the animals we see each and every day outside of our windows!

If so, this is the class  for you.  Come join us on an imaginary trip to the vast lands of Africa while we study zebras, giraffes, hippos, lions, elephants and more.   While exploring African animals, students will also investigate the importance of conservation and the role that zoos play.
