I am an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Prior to that, I was a Krener Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at UC Davis, mentored by Prof. Matthias Köppe and Prof. Jesús De Loera, and a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery and Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at University of Wisconsin-Madison, mentored by Prof. Alberto Del Pia. I received my Ph.D. in Industrial and Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan in April 2022, advised by Prof. Jon Lee. Prior to that, I received my bachelor degree in Computational Mathematics from Peking University, China, in 2017.
My research interests include (mixed) integer programming, global optimization, and theories connecting continuous optimization and discrete optimization.
I am actively recruiting self-motivated Ph.D. students. If interested, please contact me with a detailed CV and college education transcript.
I have been awarded:
ISyE Junior Researcher Workshop Travel Support, 2024
Katta Murty Prize for Best Research Paper on Optimization, IOE Department, 2018, 2020
CRM/DIMACS Workshop on Mixed-Integer Nonlinear Programming Student Travel Support, 2019
Mixed Integer Programming Workshop Student Travel Award, 2019
Rackham Conference Travel Grant, University of Michigan, 2017-2019, 2022
