Membrane application areas: Wastewater and water treatment, water reclamation and reuse, pre-treatment, desalination, etc.
그러나, 분리막이 오염되면 (membrane fouling), 투수도(water flux)가 감소되어, 에너지 & 자원의 소비가 크게 증가되는 문제가 발생합니다.

Membrane fouling causes a decrease in water production, resulting in more consumption of energy and resources.
이러한 분리막 오염 문제를 해결하기 위해서 다음과 같은 연구를 진행 중입니다.
To address membrane fouling, we are currently exploring the following research topics.
Research topic 1.
Quorum Quenching (QQ) for biofouling control
Quorum sensing (QS) 신호분자를 억제함으로써 생물막형성을 조절하는 연구
Research topic 2.
Gravity-driven membrane (GDM) reactor system
중력을 이용한 저-에너지 분리막 시스템 개발 연구
(분산식 하수처리/해수담수/재이용 분야 적용)

Biofilm control by metazoan activity
메타조아를 이용한 생물막 조절 연구
