IMPORTANT INFO (01/23 9:30 am): CFA and CSU have reached a tentative agreement and the strike is called off. Please check my latest Canvas announcement for the arrangement of this week. (I have slightly different arrangement for each course.) And I will be holding office hours today in case you want to stop by to ask something.

IMPORTANT INFO (01/17 01:00 pm): Last week, CSU walked out of negotiation after 30 minutes and cancelled further negotiation with the faculty union. So, it seems inevitable that the faculty and staff of the entire CSU will go on strike on the first week of class. I do not intend to cross the picket line. This means, I won't hold class in the first week, I will not be reading/answering any work emails or Canvas messages, and I will not be having any online or in-person work meetings (that includes student meetings). There will be no make up sections for the missed classes (because the strike is to withhold, not postpone work). For students: I know you have paid for your education. But unfortunately, a massive portion of that payment has been held up at the administration and not been properly distributed to the workers, i.e., educators and staff. You paid McDonalds, but McDonalds hasn't paid the cooks fairly; that's why there is no Big Mac. I am sorry that this has led to disruptions and inconveniences.
