TJHSST 2017-2018
Opening of School
Welcome (back) to TJHSST!
Student Schedules
Students will attend Homeroom first period at 8:40 on the first and second day of school. Starting on August 22, students and parents can log in to SIS StudentVue and ParentVue and click on Class Schedule to find their schedules, as well as Homeroom teacher and room number. Homeroom is listed as period 8. Class schedules will be finalized on September 8.
Families that do not have a SIS account: activation information for SIS Parent Account is being mailed home by FCPS (not TJ) August 16-18. Please watch your mail and activate your account so that you can see your student’s schedule. Students new to TJ will activate their SIS Student account on the first or second day of school through Homeroom.
Transportation
Transportation information is included in the packet being mailed home the week of August 14. It includes morning pick up and afternoon drop off locations and times. Visit the FCPS Transportation web page for general transportation information. Students from outside of Fairfax County who have transportation concerns and questions should contact their local jurisdiction’s school transportation offices for specific information about how bus routes will be assigned for the coming school year.
Student Parking
Please note: only Seniors who filled out a parking application and dropped it off at the Main Office in June should pick up parking tags.
Forms Collection
TJHSST must collect six forms from upperclassmen and seven forms from students new to TJ. Parents, please make sure to sign the forms.
Students should begin turning in their forms to their homeroom teacher on the first day of school. We have provided the links below for your convenience so you may print and complete the forms prior to the first day of school. Please write the student ID number in the top right corner of each form.
- Health Information Form
- Student Rights & Responsibilities Parent/Guardian Signature Sheet
- Residency Verification
- ION Posting Agreement
- Honor Code Pledge
- Emergency Care Information for Students - only required from students new to TJ. Returning families can make updates to their emergency care information through weCare@school.

Homeroom teachers are responsible for collecting all forms from each of their students the first two weeks of school. Homerooms that collect all required forms from all students by Friday, September 1 qualify for a Homeroom Pizza Party. Friday, September 8 is the deadline to submit all forms. Students that have not turned in all forms after six opportunities to submit them during Homeroom will attend a forms meeting, instead of attending the first eighth period activity. After September 8, students should turn in forms directly to the main office, as Homerooms will no longer be meeting.
