Our group focuses on Engineering Catalytic Materials & Processes to prepare Low-Carbon Transition from Fossil to Sustainable Energies

TCEL@KU (열촉매공학연구실) aims to explore a broad range of catalytic reactions with a background in chemical engineering and surface science to address energy and environmental problem, and ultimately to tackle climate change via carbon neutrality. We study how metal, metal oxide, and zeolite-based materials interact with reactants in heterogeneous catalytic systems using a variety of spectroscopic techniques in conjunction with kinetic measurements. By leveraging the knowledge of environmental processes for the removal of industrial pollutants, we pursue interdisciplinary convergence research for green energy and sustainable environment.

본 연구실은 다양한 고체촉매를 합성하고 표면의 물리화학적 특성을 분석하여 에너지 및 환경공정과 관련된 여러가지 불균일계 촉매반응에 응용하는 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 반응동역학 및 분광학적 분석을 통해 고체표면과 반응물질의 실시간 상호작용을 이해하고, 이를 기반으로 열에너지 공급을 최소화하면서 선택성을 높이는 새로운 화학반응경로를 탐색하는 것을 목표로 하고 있습니다.
