I am a public policy researcher who studies housing instability, homelessness, and their impacts on individuals, families, and children. My work uses mixed methods, including administrative data, surveys, interviews, and community-engaged approaches, to produce evidence that helps improve programs and policies serving vulnerable populations.
My work focuses on housing affordability and rent burden, student homelessness and educational outcomes, family experiences with housing precarity, and evaluations of housing and social-program interventions.
I am currently an Associate at Abt Global, where I lead or co-lead evaluations of rental assistance programs and homelessness programs for HUD, local housing authorities, housing departments, and foundations. Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Scholar at the USC Price Center for Social Innovation.
My academic work has been published in Urban Studies, the Journal of Urban Affairs, Educational Researcher, The ANNALS of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, and as policy reports and book chapters.
I completed my B.A. at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, an MPP at UCLA, and a PhD in Public Policy at USC. I am deeply committed to research that strengthens policymaking and expands opportunities for vulnerable populations.
