Our Interests and Scopes

Our lab focuses on understanding of heat transfer in soft materials including polymers and living tissues, their applications in electronic devices and medicines, and development of materials of exotic thermal properties. For example, our lab develops rapid and precision cooling technology to identify unique animal behaviors at low temperatures and methods of controlling tissue functions by thermal energy. In addition, we are developing low cost manufacturing methods of graphene related materials for various gaseous species sensors, enhanced mechanical properties of carbon based composites, high-performance thermal systems, and functional filtration sheet. With these topics, we aim for not only pioneering research findings but also another spin-off lab technology for commercialization.

We are looking for new members with interests in scientific researches, industrial developments, or both.
