Africa has generated considerable research interest across several academic and practice fields in recent times. Various academic and research institutions have been set up to engage in research on issues that confront the continent. There is however a clear need for partnership between these stakeholders to help invigorate and facilitate inter-disciplinary research into these issues. SMB Research Partners has been founded in response to this need and is set to facilitate individual, institutional and corporate research at all levels. Through its initiatives, SMB Research Partners develops collaborations with interested stakeholders to promote effective and impactful research.

Research undertaken by SMB Research Partners is complemented by theoretical and methodological rigour, and an emphasis on sound data collection, management, processing and analysis techniques. The aim is to arrive at findings that are relevant and inform policy decisions on developmental issues within and between groups, institutions, countries, and across regions.
