If you need motivation here's a glimpse at the fidget spinners being given away as prizes!

Rules:

  1. READ ALL DIRECTIONS FIRST!
  2. Follow the design guidelines listed below.
  3. Submit your coordinates in an email and your image to contest@smartlabsrobotics.com
  4. We'll send a confirmation email. The first 15 good designs will get a FREE fidget spinner! (US Only or delivery at Robofest). Only one spinner per person.
  5. We will pick the best eight designs to use at the 2017 Robofest world championship.
  6. At the World Championship we will offer the designs to everyone and keep track of how many times each one is picked.
  7. The winner will be the one that is picked the most!

How to make a pattern:

  • Step 3: Start placing dots around the path that you want ALICE to follow when frosting the pattern. Try to keep it all one continuous path. Make all the points in order. Think of it as you making a connect the dots game for ALICE to draw. Also try something where the first point might be a blob. We did the outline in one pass and the feathers in a second pass.
  • To specify a new line just click a point in the upper left corner where the coordinates are under 20 units each. Our program takes this as a signal for a new line.
  • STEP 4: When you have outlined the image click the "Finalize" button. You can also DRAW the pattern.
  • STEP 5: Press the Select All button and copy (Ctrl C)
  • STEP 6: Open an email and paste the coordinates..
  • STEP 7: Email the image and coordinates to the Smart Cookies and we'll enter it into the contest!
  • Email is: contest@smartlabsrobotics.com
  • We will have the best eight designs at the Robofest World Championship. We will also send a free fidget spinner to the first fifteen good designs.

Good luck! :)

Here is the final pattern in Excel ready to export to the EV3 and the beginning of the G-Code file.

The G-Code file tells ALICE what to do.
