Money Matters (MOMA) at Rickards High School meets every Friday during lunch in Mr. Gosline’s room. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, all of our current meetings are on Google Meet on Thursdays for an hour each. We have meetings once a week or two to talk about important financial concepts. We are also going to begin preparing for several competitions involving finance in the upcoming school year.
Our mission at Money Matters is increasing awareness about financial matters in a fun and thoughtful environment. We will achieve this through both lessons, participating in in-school competitions, and participating in national competitions. We will also strive to contribute to our community by using our knowledge to help students in other schools start their own Money Matters club to spread understanding of finance. We want our core message: “MONEY MATTERS!” to reverberate all throughout our schools!
Money Matters at Rickards High School is a branch of the international Money Matters to Students organization run by students at Harvard University, which also works diligently to promote financial literacy all around the world. It contains a list of chapters all around the world, including ours! You can find our chapter if you go to the “Chapters” tab at the top, click “Find a Chapter,” and look under “North America.”
