Mission
Reston & Area Veteran Memorial Banners’ mission and goal is to recognize and honor the service and sacrifices veterans made in service to their country, and as well to inform and educate the community at large and youth in particular.

Our 2023 banners are completed and have been hung in the communities of Reston and Pipestone. Thank you to the members of the R.M of Pipestone who were out hanging them. Additional appreciation to Kelly Flannery for building the frames, Andrea Cook for designing the banners and Leech Printing (Dean Jago) for the production of the banners.
For those still wishing to sponsor a veteran, you can do that anytime as we are accepting applications for 2024.

As we near the time of Remembrance we look forward seeing our veteran banners hanging proudly in Reston and Pipestone. We hope by displaying the names, faces and stories of our veterans that our communities will be able to connect with the everyday people who made the extraordinary decision to serve their country.
The committee was overwhelmed with the support shown for this project and would like to thank all who sponsored a veteran. Thanks also to those who gave personal donations and businesses who donated as well.
We were able to hang 52 banners this year and are ready to accept submissions to sponsor a veteran for 2024. We do have submissions already and remind you that last year we reached our goal of 50 banners two months before our August deadline.
There is a family that would like to sponsor a specific veteran, one who participated in the liberation of Holland. If you can help with that please contact the committee and we will make arrangements.
To date sponsorship has been mostly families who want to recognize their loved one but we have had one business, a community group and the Grad Class of 2024 as well recognize a veteran. If you or your organization wish to sponsor contact the committee and we will match you with a veteran also.
Deadline for banners for 2024 is a firm May 1, 2024. This year we must receive all information, photo and writeup along with payment before you will be guaranteed a spot.
