Are you prepared?

Things are getting wild, that is for sure. We are seeing catastrophes everywhere we look. Life sustaining preparedness thoughts I'd like to share:

EMP Shield for vehicle: https://www.empshield.com/product/vehicle/ an electromagnetic pulse from a solar flare, nuke in the sky, or other terrorist attacks, can disable just about all electronics frying the circuits permanently. So, for vehicles, this is really a valuable solution. This is an insurance policy you hope you'd never really need, but being the only one on the block with a functioning vehicle could give you advantages in the event an electromagnetic pulse wipes out the electronics in your area. The likelihood of this happening is hard to gauge. It's a simple piece of equipment almost anyone can install in minutes with minimal tools. It is on my list of survival gear. I found these to be interesting as well https://www.amazon.com/Faraday-Military-FULLY-SPECCED-Electro-shielding-Survivalists/dp/B01BXRH22W/ You can slide your laptops, backup cell phones, and whatnot into a faraday cage protection sleeve when not in use.

Power. Electricity is important for many things. Light to see where you are going and what you are doing, air conditioning can be a real life saver, oxygen condensers, cpap machines, radios, televisions, computers, electric scooters...and we have almost all experienced a time when the power was out. There are some solutions you should consider in the event your power is interrupted.

Generators are great for being able to convert gasoline or propane into electricity. Honda isn't cheap, but they are solid. These little guys (Honda) are great and I think you can pair them. Champion and Sportsman seem to work OK and they are much less expensive, although I don't think they will hold up as long as a Honda. I got one of these loud heavy Sportsman monsters and it helped us through Snovid. I opted for one of these Champion Generators so I can something easier to move around and hopefully a little quieter. Generators have their drawbacks though. They are loud, they put out exhaust, they require gasoline or propane. It would be interesting to make one work off of a rocket stove. Here is one example of a rocket stove generator.

There is another solution, lithium ion batteries with power inverters. They are being referred to as "Solar Generators" Jackery and Bluetti are two front lining brands. I've also heard about Generark. You can keep them charged up when you have a power source and can use solar panels to charge them as well. For home, nothing beats the Tesla Powerwall if you can afford it!

Heat in a winter storm: Mr Heater Buddy is a great solution. You can get a small adapter to refill the small propane tanks or even get a hose to connect the heater to the larger propane tanks. The larger tanks need to stay outdoors though. Professor Hobo does product reviews of this stuff too. https://www.facebook.com/HobotechTom/

Communication

Our cell phone networks, our internet services, our phone systems, they're all vulnerable to attack. When the powers at be wish to pull shenanigans, disrupting our communications it puts us at a huge disadvantage. Too many of us have gotten used to a centralized service that keeps track of our contacts like through social media. Get multiple points of contact. Phone, email, multiple providers for your key contacts. Services go down. A really robust almost foolproof way to set up a grid to send text messages from one cell phone to another is a really nifty gadget called GoTenna Mesh. They hop off of each other pretty long range and send you the message. One of the most simple solutions to stay in touch with a small network around you is a network of people using 2way radios on established channels in such events. Ham radios are great and have a further reach with repeating towers, but requires a license to operate legally. Encrypted communication might get you a few steps ahead. https://briarproject.org/ has an app that is great for secure communications that will take any route it can find. Servalproject.org Serval Project can be downloaded as the APK (The ones in control of the big organizations don't want you to have these tools so you will have to download an APK and install it rather than go to the play store) This can be a great way to create your own network of smartphones for an immediate area which would be a great way to keep in touch with neighbors and be able to call them or send them pictures. This was really designed for war torn and underdeveloped areas. I was reading of some sites being blocked in Myanmar when they were disrupting organized protests and they were using Yagi Browser to be able to go around blockades.

Water! You need water! Store some water in case of emergencies. Just fill some containers and store some in cabinets or closets. You will be glad you did one day!

Food

Storage: Get you a deep freezer if you can. Get a food-saver vacuum sealer so that you can store food for longer times and still keep it fresh. Have a power backup for extended power outages. Fill blank spaces with ice so that it takes longer to warm up in the event of a power outage. A cup of ice with a penny on top will alert you if you had a long period above freezing.

Production: If you can, find a way to grow some food for yourself. Anything helps. Our food supply has huge vulnerabilities.

Money. The US dollar is subject to collapse. Bitcoin will likely outlive the dollar. Ethereum is going strong. I have a site for learning how to pivot and make money on the way. sites.google.com/view/minibanksters This also has information on the stock market, the games they play, and the potential to make crazy money.
