WHY LEARN ARABIC AND ESPECIALLY EGYPTIAN ?!

Arabic is spoken by over 300 million people who live in 22 countries that make up the Arab world. Some of these countries are well known, such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Iraq, and others are less so, such as Djibouti and the Comoros. Besides being the official language of these countries, Arabic is also the religious language of more than 1.2 billion Muslims. It is the language of the Muslim holy book, the Koran and other classical Muslim literary and religious works. Arabic is also one of the six official languages of the United Nations. Like any other language with a long history that is told over a vast territory, Arabic has many varieties. Literary Arabic (called fusha) and regional dialects. If you are learning Arabic to truly live in an Arab country, then classical Arabic will not be of interest to you.

This rich linguistic situation is qualified by linguists as "diglossic". Arabs from different parts of the Arab world use a regional variety or dialect i.e. Egyptian, Iraqi, Syrian, etc., for conversation, while Modern Standard Arabic (MSA ) is used for reading, writing and speaking formally. For example. when an Arab reads a newspaper, he reads in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), but when he discusses its content with his friends, the discussion takes place in the Egyptian or other dialect depending on the region.

IMPORTANT: - However, people who learn to speak only Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) suffer from not being able to use it in conversation; not only will they look rediculous if they do, but they will also have a hard time understanding what people are telling them. These Egyptian Arabic dialect teaching methods, which I use, give initiations to well-founded Arabic using simple practical dialogues, after having taught the Arabic alphabet so that I can read and write everything.

Why EGYPTIAN COLLOQUIAL?!

Egyptian is the most widely used and understood of all the Arabic dialects. On the one hand, the Egyptians constitute between a quarter and a fifth of the total population of the Arab world. On the other hand, Egypt, especially Cairo, has long played an important role, and is probably the most important cultural center in the Arab world. More publications from Cairo than from any other Arab city, films and soap operas are watched all over the Arab world. Many Arab (and Muslim) students study in Egyptian universities, and hundreds of thousands of Egyptian teachers, farm workers, computer scientists, doctors, technicians and engineers live all over the Arab world. In addition to learning to converse at a basic level, you will also learn to read Arabic at a level that will allow you to understand the names of people and places, road signs, restaurant menus and times of the day. route. Since the words will be presented as spoken in an Egyptian Arabic context, the Egyptian pronunciation will be adopted throughout the teaching method used. Or the Egyptian dialect for a conversation in accordance with Arab sociolinguistic realities.
