Regional Abyo

Illustrated instruction manual for setting up your own regional public notification service for wild spawns! All data is from LondonPogoMap so you can only set up channels for information that is otherwise view-able on that website.

0.) Have designs for your channels in mind

And we'll try to realise them.

1.) Contact Abyoda on Discord by DM

I made a kind of work account :P. All communication should be done via this account; I aim to check it every evening. This is the same account that posted the original ad for this service on #info on PyS.

2.) Draw some polygons for your area *or* specify a list of postcodes

Using geojson.io, you can draw polygons on a map of London. Use the pentagon-icon tool, and click to mark corners, finishing by clicking the first point. Note the very useful "Delete last point" and "Cancel" buttons! When you are finished, copy over all the code in the right panel to the DM channel, or save to GeoJSON and attach it in the DM channel.

3.) Make channels and send over their URLs or IDs

You can rename them afterwards no prob, and needn't bother with permissions. To get URLs, open desktop browser Discord, open each channel, and copy from the address bar. To get IDs, open desktop app or browser Discord, enable "developer mode" in settings, right-click each channel and select "Copy ID".

4.) Specify your filters however you want to

Most of your ideas will be possible; try it out! Check Case study below for an example.

5.) You'll be sent a link by DM allowing you to add the bot account to your server; click :3
