Workshop

The workshop will take place on the 6th - 7st of November 2018 in the Institute of Philosophy, Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland.

The aim of this workshop is to generate and in-depth philosophical discussion about the nature of sound perception. Topics may include:

• Metaphysics of sound
• Phenomenal character of sound
• Mechanisms of sound perception
• The place of sound perception in the perception of music
• Higher-order and lower-order auditory properties and their perception
• Auditory mental qualities and their nature

We invited a number of experts to join this workshop and contribute papers. These papers will all have commentators that will engage in discussion with the speakers during the event. Commentators will be selected from submissions to the Call for Commentators. We will provide flight and accommodations to all invited commentators.

We will invite all participants to dinner at one of the fine restaurants in Kraków after the first day of the event.
