Welcome

This is me

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology in Plön. I am using mathematical models to understand the ecology and evolution of communities. Particularly, I am fascinated by how communities respond to environmental variability and by the mechanisms that determine persistence of populations. I did my PhD in theoretical ecology at University of Potsdam where I was investigating diversity maintenance in predator-prey systems. More recently, I am transferring this experience to disease ecosystems (cancer or bacterial infections).  Specifically, I am investigating the interaction between the immune system and leukemia under specific treatment types, as well as the initial dynamics in urinary tract infections
