After much consideration, I have decided to run for the office of Mayor for the City of Saline.
I bring more than forty years of experience in education, governance, and community service to my candidacy for Mayor of Saline. As a longtime resident and ten‑year member of the Saline Area Schools Board of Education—serving multiple terms as president—I’ve demonstrated a strong commitment to transparent decision‑making, collaborative problem‑solving, and responsible stewardship of public resources.
My professional work as a professor of teacher education and my administrative roles at Eastern Michigan University, including Interim Director of the Graduate School, have strengthened my skills in strategic planning, budget oversight, accreditation, and faculty development. I also bring national governance experience from six years on the Board of Directors for the International Society for Technology in Education and service on the Michigan Association of School Boards’ Governmental Relations Committee.
My priorities for Saline center on transparency, collaboration, and long‑term community wellbeing. I believe residents deserve clear communication about city operations and the reasoning behind major decisions. I am committed to building strong partnerships across council, civic organizations, and the community; ensuring responsible fiscal management; planning thoughtfully for infrastructure and growth; and fostering inclusive civic engagement. My goal is to lead with integrity, openness, and a steady focus on Saline’s future.
As this site develops, I will share more about myself, my story, and my vision for Saline.
