THE HISTORY OF LUST

One of the most popular 80's glam band of NY and tri-state area. Re-live the past, be part of the future.

The band LUST was started in 1984 with singer Robbie Rocker and lead guitarist Kevin Mack who wanted to start the ultimate band, just like bands like they grew up on, and take it even farther. With the idea and dream in place, it was time to fill in the pieces. Childhood friend of Robbie Rocker, Stevie Zingo, was the easy choice for their drummer. A talented player and showman, he and Rob played in previous bands together and always shared the same vision. The band then found a bass player known more for his crazy everyday David Lee Roth dress code and his willing to be outrageous.

There was nothing this band wouldn’t do to draw a crowd with flamboyant imagery, white face, unique wardrobe, and way-over-the-top stage show. And, draw a crowd they did, indeed. Earning them New York's top glam band of the 80s. LUST was featured in national magazines, news papers, and trade papers across the tri-state area, selling out shows where ever they played.

LUST released their first cassette in 1988 titled "Been A Long Time" which featured the WSOU 89.9 fan favorite called "Just a Little". Joe Narvark was hired to fill the guitar spot on this recording and replace the original guitarist Kevin Mack due to health issues. The band was bigger than ever still selling out shows.

Sometime later, Joe Narvark and the original bass player, Danny Johnson, left the band. Steve and Rob decided to continue on, but knew things would have to change. They couldn’t get new members to look and believe in what the original friends from high school had created. The new members included Vinny Valentine on lead guitar, J. C. Starr on lead guitar, and Stacy Michaels on bass. Steve continued pounding the drums, and Rob concentrated on singing and pumping up the crowd.

Now with a new look - like a glammed up Skid Row - the band released their second cassette title "What You See Is What You Get". The single, "Girls Will Be Girls" did very well on college radios around the tri-state area. Unfortunately, like all the bands of that era, grunge came and whipped out that magical time .The band came to a end in 1992.

LUST NOW

In 2017, our 35th anniversary, there is a new interest in the band. We were approached by two record companies asking us to re-release our material on CD. After careful consideration, Rob and Steve decided on Demon Doll Records. Check out the link below. The CD was just released in January of 2018!!

Our music is raw , fast, gritty, and has a combo of hard rock, punk, new wave, and fun time rock and roll. The band is very excited in releasing the vaults.
