LockCal ("we", "our", or "us") operates the LockCal: Calendar Wallpaper Android app. This policy explains what the app accesses, why it needs Android permissions, and how information is handled.
You do not need an account. Tasks, habits, moods, workouts, photo memories, wallpaper designs, and other content you create are stored on your device. If you connect a device calendar, LockCal also keeps local copies of the events it imports so it can display them and schedule reminders.
Release builds use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. These services may receive app interaction events, app and device information, app-instance identifiers, crash reports, and diagnostics. LockCal's custom analytics events record feature actions, template IDs, and counts, not the text of your events, tasks, or habits.
After you grant access, LockCal can list visible device calendars and their account names, and read event titles, descriptions, dates, and times to show events in the app and on wallpapers. Calendar import can refresh in the background, including while the app is closed. All visible calendars are included by default; you can choose which calendars to import in LockCal Settings.
With calendar access granted, an event you create in LockCal may also be added to a writable device calendar. Editing or deleting an event linked to the device calendar also updates or deletes that calendar event. If your device calendar syncs with an account, those changes may sync through that account's calendar service. You can deny or revoke calendar access in Android Settings and still use LockCal's local calendar features.
On Android 13 and later, LockCal requests this permission when you enable a habit or event reminder. Notifications can contain a habit name, event title, or event notes. They may appear on your lock screen according to Android notification settings. You can turn off reminders in LockCal or change notification access and lock-screen visibility in Android Settings.
LockCal uses exact alarms, where Android allows them, to deliver the habit and event reminders you set close to their scheduled time. The manifest declares USE_EXACT_ALARM on Android 13 and later and SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM on Android 12 and 12L. If exact alarms are unavailable, reminders use less precise alarms and may arrive later. The automatic daily wallpaper refresh does not require an exact alarm.
If you enable event start alerts, LockCal may show a full-screen alert and wake the screen when an event begins, including while the device is locked. The alert can show the event title and time. Android may restrict this access; you can disable event start alerts in LockCal Settings or manage full-screen alert access in Android Settings where available.
LockCal uses this permission to apply the design you choose as your lock-screen wallpaper and refresh it when the date or relevant content changes. If Android does not allow automatic application, the app offers a manual wallpaper picker. Information placed on a lock-screen wallpaper can be seen by anyone looking at your screen.
After the device restarts, LockCal can reschedule your reminders, resume calendar sync, and refresh the wallpaper. This permission does not give the app access to unrelated device content.
LockCal uses Android's photo picker or a system camera app only when you choose a photo or capture one. The selected image is copied into the app's local storage for your design or photo memory. LockCal does not request broad photo-library or camera permission.
LockCal does not publish your calendar, photos, or app content through a LockCal account or social feature. Content you put on a wallpaper or in a reminder may still be visible on your lock screen. Your Android lock-screen and notification settings control some of this visibility.
We do not sell your personal information. Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics process usage and diagnostic data under Google's privacy practices. LockCal does not directly send your calendar events or selected photos to a LockCal server for these features. Your calendar account provider, Android, Google Play, and Android backup may process information under their own settings and policies. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
App content stays on your device until you delete it or remove the app, subject to device backup. Because Android backup may be enabled, a backup copy of app data can remain under your device or Google account settings. Calendar events written to a device calendar remain there until removed from that calendar. Firebase retains analytics and crash data under its applicable settings and policies.
Use LockCal Settings to choose imported calendars and turn off reminders or event start alerts. Use Android Settings to revoke calendar or notification access and manage full-screen alerts, lock-screen visibility, and backup where available. You can delete content in the app. Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data by contacting us.
We use reasonable safeguards, but no electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. LockCal is not intended for children under 13 or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us.
We may update this policy and post a new effective date, with an in-app notice when appropriate. Questions or privacy requests: damvietvuong02@gmail.com.
