The idea of taking piano lessons might sound really daunting to somebody who has never had musical instruction outside of what is taught in school, for those that struggle to learn in "regular" learning environments, or for somebody who has never tried to learn any music before; but Kai is determined to break down this difficult barrier that many face.
His approach to ensuring musical instruction is as inclusive and individualized as possible creates an environment where YOU are the top priority within the musical instruction, rather than following a strict curriculum step-by-step. Kai loves to create goals and plans with each student for what they truly love about music and to help the student grow their love for all aspects of music.
Whether you are somebody that has learned piano in the past and wants to remind yourself of what you know, or you are a parent of a child with difficulty learning in traditional learning environments, Kai will work with you to ensure that you can learn about music in the ways that work best for you. Kai hopes to bring this approach to learning music to those in their community through outreach programs and working with others in the area that have connections in the field of education. Kai has also began studying how musical education can enhance the lives of individuals with autism, and how various educational tools can be beneficial to their learning.
They hope that bringing musical education to those who might otherwise get turned away from one-on-one lessons will help break down the barrier between societal groups and access to musical education.
Please fill in this form to book your first lesson at KM Studios, ensure you check that the length of the lesson is to your preference!
Please reach out for an introductory meeting or with any questions you may have, I will respond as soon as possible with answers!
I offer lessons out of my studio, as well as in-home lessons covering London and Middlesex Centre - with a travel fee dependent on distance & time taken to travel.
In-studio rates:
1 hr ~ 50
45 min ~ 37.50
30 min ~ 25
In-home base rate:
1 hr ~ 60
45 min ~ 50
* please note that 30 min In-home lessons are not preferred unless necessary due to travel time redundancy *
Length of a lesson is dependent on age, level, experience, and focusing ability of each student, but most students benefit from either a 45-60 minute lesson time so there is no indication of feeling like they need to "rush through" any technique, theory, or practical concepts; and to ensure all questions are answered. That being said, many younger students find it difficult to focus for extended periods of time and may need to work up from a half hour lesson to an hour, this can be discussed with me in your introductory meeting to ensure there is no uncertainty in the process.
If you are unsure about beginning lessons with me, or you have questions pertaining to how the lessons will work, I offer a short introductory meeting to answer any of these concerns. This 10-15 minute free meeting can take place over the phone or through video calling software to be able to have flexibility in scheduling. I am available to schedule these meetings from Monday-Friday at most times of day. Please reach out in the contact form below with days and times that will work for you and I will get back to you as soon as I can!
Music Director at The Littles Lucan, a children's centre based in Lucan ON
Achieved RCM Level 8 Piano & Theory
Has taught since 2021
two years combined experience at Long & McQuade Lessons Centres [Peterborough & London North] teaching piano, music theory, and basic voice instruction

Has experience performing various genres with many different ensembles, including playing for the London-based punk rock band Gabi and The Whats
I have been studying classical piano since my early childhood through the Royal Conservatory of Music [RCM] program, graduating from level 8 prior to establishing my own studio. I am now working towards achieving an Associate Diploma in Piano Performance [ARCT] through RCM, with level 9 being my current level of study.
My teaching career began in 2020 with the establishment of my home studio as a teenager living in a small town just outside London, Ontario. I later relocated my studio to a Long & McQuade lessons centre to reach more students during a busy time of my life.
Recently, I have transitioned to a semi-private teaching practice that includes in-home teaching, my private home studio & Lucan-based studio, and teaching group music classes at The Littles Lucan.
My teaching is always based in theory and technique, but in a way that is approachable for all ages and abilities. I strive to ensure every student reaches their personal goals and I always specialize my lessons towards the needs of my students.
I have prepared many beginner and intermediate students for exams through the Royal Conservatory of Music, and I have also worked with many students for goals outside of a structured program.
I have recently been shifting my focus to specializing my teaching towards working with underserved members of my community. This has included working with individuals with ADHD, and those on the Autism Spectrum, as well as students who experience physical challenges or disabilities that might affect their learning in a "traditional" learning environment.
This new focus has become a way for me to help those in our community discover and experience music who might otherwise be unable to do so, and has become a new avenue for me to continue sharing my love of music with all. This venture will be continued through my studies at Fanshawe to become a Educational Assistant.
I love to play for all occasions including weddings, graduation ceremonies, and parties. I can play a setlist decided by the event organizers or procure my own depending on the type of performance.
My rates and availabilities for performances can vary depending on time of year and type of performance, please inquire directly for a more appropriate discussion around what I can do for you!
