genikomsou research group

Katerina Genikomsou is an Associate Professor at Queen's University. Katerina and her research group examine the structural performance of reinforced concrete structures using experimental, analytical and nonlinear finite element methods. They examine the performance of the reinforced concrete structures under conventional and seismic actions. Novel materials and construction methods are considered for safe, sustainable and resilient structural connections. Studies on the capabilities of existing constitutive models for reinforced concrete are performed and their results are considered in the numerical analyses.

Current research projects include the following:

Machine Learning Models for Seismic Punching Shear

Punching Shear Experiments and Finite Element Analysis

Ultra High Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete

NiTi Shape Memory Alloys

Post Disaster Reconnaissance
