Karthik Muthineni

Since 2025, I am working with Silicon Austria Labs (SAL) GmbH as a Research Scientist on topics related to Wireless Connectivity and Positioning. Before joining SAL, I worked at Robert Bosch GmbH, Germany as a Researcher on topics related to Communication and Network Technology and was enrolled in PhD studies at the Department of Signal Theory and Communications, Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC), Spain as a part of the project 5GSmartFact, an MSCA-ITN program funded by the European Union (EU). My PhD was focused on developing highly reliable and accurate indoor positioning systems in the context of Industry 4.0 by combining multiple techniques, which include 5G, 6G Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC), Ultra-Wideband (UWB), sensor fusion, and machine learning. I received an M.Eng in Information and Communication Technology with Telecommunications as a major from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand in 2018 with an "Excellent Thesis" grade under the supervision of Dr. Attaphongse Taparugssanagorn and a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2016 from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), India, under the supervision of Dr. M Asha Rani.
