About

I am a PhD student in economics at the University of Amsterdam and the Tinbergen Institute. My research lies at the intersection of labor and behavioral/experimental economics. I often combine lab experiments with field data to answer policy-relevant questions related to personality traits. I am particularly interested in the impact of personality traits on labor market outcomes, including gender differences, and the origin of personality traits, with the end goal of understanding sources of inequality and how to counter them. Thomas Buser and Erik Plug are my supervisors.

I am currently on the academic job market. You can contact me at h.yuan@uva.nl. My recommendation letters are managed by our placement assistant, Arianne de Jong (a.dejong@tinbergen.nl).
